Sony is constantly working to make gaming better and accessible to everyone. Well, a new patent proves it.

24.04.2024 – One of the biggest names in the gaming industry, Sony is known for its PlayStation series of consoles, although the company also specializes in PC hardware and other video game accessories such as headsets. Over the years, Sony has pioneered a number of technological breakthroughs across multiple industries, and the company’s latest “soundprint” patent could once again be a step forward in video game experiences. Not to mention that this new technology can even boost the game of the hearing-impaired, especially if it were possible to enable smooth audio communication.

So Sony is constantly working to push the video game industry forward, their heart is that the game has a place in everyone’s life. However, there are still people who shy away from investing time and energy into games. And as an experienced gamer, I can’t necessarily blame them for that. There are a lot of games on the market that provide a great experience, but not necessarily in a way that many people can find time for. Sometimes you have to grind long hours in a game to be relevant or just to be able to progress in the story. And this kind of thing is not necessarily for those who only have 2-3 hours a week to play in addition to work and family.

A good friend in trouble

Well, Sony’s new innovation can help them enormously, as they claim that the Japanese are working on an “auto-play” function. The option in question would essentially take control from the players and perform tasks on their behalf, with predetermined goals and frameworks.

Sony’s new ‘autoplay’ mode saves players from repetitive in-game activities such as collecting resources, leveling up and even travelling. Sony stated that the new mode can also use user data to simulate the user’s playing style while performing tasks. Regardless, we won’t be able to ask the machine to spin a title to 100% or to defeat stronger bosses (why would we?), Sony’s goal is to save players from more boring, repetitive gaming hours. players.

The patent for auto-play is already on the table, but unfortunately it is not yet known exactly when the function can be expected to be activated. It’s possible that we won’t hear from him again for years…
