At first, the robot dog called Thermonator could be thought of as a bad joke, even though the robot equipped with a flamethrower is already available in the USA.

You could hear about the Thermonator machine for the first time last year and lo and behold, it is now officially available. Behind the robot dog is a company called Throwflame, who celebrated the launch of the robot with an extremely absurd and scary video. If what you saw wasn’t scary enough on its own, the video below is in style Oppenheimer a remixed version of his soundtrack was cut.

Although it is not difficult to think of the worst when seeing the Thermonator, the company behind the machine does not advertise it as a weapon in theory. According to Throwflame, the flame-throwing robot dog could have a role in agriculture and wildlife management, and not least in entertainment. (Yes, we don’t really understand the latter either, only pyromaniacs can find pleasure in it, but it’s better to keep them far away from such a machine.)

Of course, the Thermonator is not a cheap piece of fun, the manufacturer charges $9,420 for it, which roughly corresponds to HUF 3.4 million. The machine is based on a Unitree Go1 robot dog – which can be purchased for around $3,500 – to which Throwflame is compact and “ultra modular” strapped to his ARC type flamethrower (that’s roughly $900). The Thermonator is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality, can be controlled from a smartphone, and can spew fire up to 30 meters away.
