We recently reported that a known display bug in Samsung phones, where a green bar appears on the screen, has resurfaced. Most of the former Galaxy S and Note top models are affected, and although we do not yet know the exact cause of the phenomenon, the manufacturer offered a free display replacement, but as far as we know, only in one country, and even there under limited conditions.

We reported on the error in our previous article, which had the apropos of the fact that in the past period several users have had the already mentioned green stripe appear on their displays. Even though some people have had the problem after the last update, it’s probably more of a hardware problem, which might have something to do with heating. There was someone whose display broke after a more profitable game.

After the news broke, Samsung’s Indian division offered owners of the Galaxy S20, S21, S22 and Note 20 models there to replace their green-striped display for free once. But only if the phone was purchased within the last three years and the defect is reported by April 30, that is, the opportunity is only available for one week. Anyone who comes up with the problem later did it this way.

So far, there is no news about a similar promotion in other countries, but if you happen to have the error, it is not worth traveling to India because of it, be sure to report the error to Samsung at home, to see if there is a solution. Of course, you shouldn’t get too high hopes, there have been reports from other countries that the manufacturer will not repair the defect for free if your warranty has already expired, so you have to pay a larger amount for the service.
