Dimensity 6300 is considered more of a wrinkle patch than an innovation, but that still makes it a pleasant alternative.

Mediatek has announced a new mid-range Dimensity system chip with an integrated 5G modem, which is practically a copy of the Dimensity 6100+, although it is a new stepping revision, so it is possible to reach higher clocks. The parameters of the ultramobile solution are detailed in the table below:

MediaTek ARMv8, new Dimensity system chip
Type Dimensity 6100+
Integrated modem yes (5G)
CPU architecture ARMv8-A
Heterogeneous design DynamIQ
number of CPU cores,
clock and type
2x 2.4GHz Cortex-A76
6 pieces, 2 GHz Cortex-A55
IGP type Mali-G57 MC2
Memory controller 2 x 16-bit LPDDR4X (2133 MHz)
HEVC block 4K@30 fps (decode/encode)
ISP 108 / 16+16 megapixels
Production technology 6 sq m (TSMC)

The SoC has inherited the display engine of its predecessor, so it can handle up to 2520×1080 pixel 120 Hz displays, and 10-bit AMOLED alternatives can also be used.

MediaTek will start shipping the new system chip in the spring, but it is not known exactly when it will appear in smartphones.
