TECH NEWS – A Brazilian doctor used Apple’s AR headset during a surgery and believes that Apple Vision Pro, which will soon be available in Europe, can bring about huge changes in the industry.

Unveiled at the recent WWDC, the headset made its way to the US in early February, and it’s slowly starting to unfold just how useful the device can be in the real world. Now we hear that an orthopedic surgeon used Apple Vision Pro to successfully operate on his patient’s shoulder. Bruno Gobbato thus proved that the medical uses of the device of the Cupertino company should not be neglected either.

“Arthroscopic shoulder surgery uses a camera inside the joint, and surgeons perform the surgery looking directly at a screen. With this device, I was able to see a screen-sized, high-resolution image, as well as see the patient examination and 3D models in real time,” MacMagazine reported Gobbato’s comments. A rotator cuff tear had to be operated on. The tear was caused by excessive wear and tear of the tendon tissue in the shoulder.

In a video posted on YouTube, Gobbato shows how he was able to see the notes, X-rays or live cameras during the surgery using the AR headset. He is an expert on the subject, as he previously used Microsoft’s product, the HoloLens, so he knows how difficult it is to wear a headset in the operating room, but since he has now performed a successful operation, Apple Vision Pro has taken the place of many pieces of equipment.

For this reason, it is no wonder that doctors consider the possibilities offered by Apple’s headset to be a new level, so it is not only possible to successfully use Apple Vision Pro during everyday tasks or media consumption, which will certainly later be made into a cheaper package, because in the United States, the company also asks for 3,500 dollars for the basic model, and if the European version is announced in June (everything is given for this due to the integration of languages), Apple will ask for a minimum of 3,500 euros here as well.
