Since last year, there have been reports of green lines appearing on the displays of some Samsung devices. It’s a big enough problem that the company has officially responded in some markets by offering free, one-time display replacements for out-of-warranty devices.

Samsung has been offering these display replacements for select models in India since last year, and the company has now expanded the list of supported models to include the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series.

This green line issue has been reported primarily on devices with Super AMOLED displays. In the past few weeks, reports of the problem have resurfacedwhich highlighted that more devices are now suffering from this, so Samsung should extend the free replacement offer to more models.

Samsung India has been providing free display replacement for the affected devices since July last year. Eligible devices included the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Note 20 series. The company has now expanded this list with the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series.

However, the green-striped Galaxy S21 and S22 get a free screen replacement

Like last year, free battery and stock replacements are included with all devices, but it looks like the deadline to take advantage of the offer has passed. Appointments must be booked at a Samsung service center by April 30, 2024 for the company to receive a free replacement.

With this offer, customers practically renew their entire device. Reviving a device like the Galaxy S22 that is still relatively modern and has software support for a while is a pretty good deal.
