The Division 1/A World Championship started in Bolzano with a clash full of twists and turns. Last year’s top-flight Slovenia took the lead against South Korea thanks to Villach striker Robert Sabolic, who plays in the Austrian league, but the Asians turned the tables before the first break.
However, the second period started again with a Slovenian goal, this time Jaka Sodja, who also plays in the Austrian league, the Slovenian HK Olimpija, scored. In the third period, however, the Koreans gained the advantage again with Lee Chong-Min’s man-of-the-match goal, and in the first half, Kim Sang-Job made the final score 4-2. South Korea won easily even though they missed a penalty in the end.
