Domenicali spoke about Hamilton and the Italian mentality

Lewis Hamilton took a serious step when he decided to join Ferrari in 2025.

The seven-time world champion achieved amazing success with Mercedes, the British driver won 82 of his 103 F1 race victories with the Silver Arrows, which was combined with six world championship titles won in Mercedes.

Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1, managed Ferrari as a team boss between 2008 and 2014, so he knows exactly how the Maranello guard works.

“Lewis has to understand the Maranello and Italian mentality, but I’m sure he’s excited about it. When a personality of this caliber comes to Ferrari, a lot of attention will be focused on him,” said Domenicali.

“Leclerc will be more fired up and push harder, so I think overall it’s a positive thing for the team.”

Domenicali also spoke about the transfer’s impact on F1: “For Formula 1, it’s an amazing thing. A new chapter begins in Lewis’ career, which will also be new for Ferrari. These events take us somewhat into 2025, even though we are only at the beginning of the 2024 season. I think it will be a huge story,” added the Italian businessman.

Ferrari last won the individual world championship in 2007 and the constructors’ championship in 2008.
