Despite the fact that the news about Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner – who was accused of sexual harassment even before the start of the season – has been quiet in recent weeks, it seems that new developments are unfolding in the case. The international press had previously reported that power struggles are raging at the Austrian team, as the majority owner Yoovidhya family is on Horner’s side, while team driver Max Verstappen’s father, Jos, is pushing for the team’s first man to leave.

No new developments have come to light in recent weeks, it seemed that the moods had calmed down, but German press reports reported that the chief engineer of Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey – who plays a key role in the dominance of the Austrian team – was satisfied with the power struggles, and the departure decided on.

Auto Motor und Sport has learned that Newey has already started negotiations to terminate his contract, which would expire in 2025. Moreover, they believe they already know which team will be the chief engineer’s next job, as Ferrari is said to be waiting for a response from Newey, who has already been contacted and seen at the Italian airport.

By the way, Newey’s departure would be in line with the opinion of former F1 driver Gerhard Burger, who previously said that due to internal tension, Horner would remain in his position, while Helmut Marko and Adrian Newey, members of the management team, would leave the team, and Max Verstappen would also leave the team. He’s on his way to Mercedes. Incidentally, Helmut Marko was asked about this, and he said

will not prevent Verstappen’s possible transfer to the German team.

And speaking of Mercedes, team boss Toto Wolff previously said that signing Newey is not an option for them, as it would break the unity of the team. However, it is increasingly likely that one of Red Bull’s most important executives will leave because of Horner’s sexual harassment case.
