Ferrari went blue in Miami – they showed the new race clothes reminiscent of the old days.

Ferrari announced this week that it will compete with an unusual livery that includes the color blue at next weekend’s Miami Grand Prix. With this move, the brand celebrates the 70th anniversary of its debut on the American market, as well as the arrival of the new main sponsor, the American HP, and they are trying to make the most of it on the marketing front.

After unveiling their new ‘Azzuro La Plata’ team kit on Wednesday (which fans can buy for quite a bit of money), on Thursday they unveiled the fireproof overalls that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will wear in Miami.

Ferrari has a tradition of using the color blue. The light blue shade just presented was used by some of their competitors from the 1950s to the 1970s. Among others, their first world champion, Alberto Ascari, sat behind the wheel in such a light blue outfit, as well as Niki Lauda in 1974.

Political debate and protest – the story of the blue Formula 1 Ferrari

Ferrari plans to present its blue car at a larger event in Miami. The management of their new partner, HP, will also be present at the unveiling.
