Although the much-talked-about “blue finish” is not yet available, the redesigned race suit has already been presented by Ferrari: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have also received the light blue “work suit” for next week’s Miami Grand Prix.

The Italians announced on Tuesday that they will start the first American weekend of the season with a special livery, paying tribute to the 70th anniversary of the brand’s American presence. As well as in front of a piece of Ferrari history.

In the past, the mechanics and not infrequently the competitors also wore the light blue outfit with the fanciful name Azzurro La Plata on the weekends.

This tradition lasted until the mid-1970s, but since then the members of the Ferrari team (in the king category) mostly wore red overalls and work clothes. That will change next week in Miami, if only for one weekend.

The competitors are once again dressed in Azzurro La Plata! On Wednesday, late in the morning, Ferrari introduced the public to what the new clothes look like on its social media page.

The team also released a short video in which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz receive and comment on the new equipment, while they – and the spectators – learn about the history of the blue Ferrari suits.

The color will also appear on the race cars at the Miami Grand Prix, but the design has not yet been unveiled, it will take place later during an event in Florida.
