Thanks to the joint efforts of the European Handball Federation (EHF), the National Event Organizing Agency (NRÜ) and AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE), which operates the sports channel, we can witness extraordinary moments in 2024, says the sports television’s statement.

It was highlighted: the European Federation (EHF) decided to hold the draw for the two top events at the same time for the first time in its existence.

“With the draw to be held in Budapest on the 7th of May, we are simultaneously putting the spotlight on our two premium products, the women’s and men’s Champions League” he declared David Szlezak, EHF Marketing Executive Director. He added: they have reached another milestone in the promotion of the two disciplines, and the common goal of those involved is to bring the event to as many fans as possible.

Katalin Pálingerthe vice-president of the Hungarian association highlighted: MKSZ has been an active part of the women’s four finals in Budapest since the beginning, i.e., 2014, and they are very happy to be co-organizers of the top event of women’s club handball for the tenth time this year.

The draw is of particular importance for the entire European handball family, as the pairing of the semifinals of the weekend in Budapest and Cologne is also revealed, which is a novelty of sporting historical significance.

The two series are currently in the quarter-finals, Hungarian club life is represented by Telekom Veszprém for men, while FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria and Audi ETO KC from Győr are still in the field for women.

For the women’s foursome final in the MVM Dome in Budapest will take place, this time on June 1-2while men’s by a week organized later, also in the usual place, in Cologne’s Lanxess Arena.

In the men’s category, the Veszprém team competes with Aalborg from Denmark will meet in the quarter-finals, the first domestic leg will take place on Thursday from 6.45 p.m., and the second leg away from home will be played by the Hungarian champion on May 1, from 6.45 p.m.

For women the first leg of the quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, Győr the defending champion and winner of the last three editions Norwegian Kristiansand travels to his ensemble (6 p.m.), while the FTC is Esbjerg, Denmark receives his team (4 p.m.). Next week, the first match will be played on Saturday (6 p.m.) and the second will be played on Sunday (4 p.m.).
