Aleksandar Pesic was signed by Ferencváros from Crvena zvezda last summer, since then he scored 12 goals in 29 matches and also provided six assists.
Fradi can reach the MK final on Wednesday
Over the weekend, Ferencváros won its sixth championship title in a row, its 35th championship in NB I, so the club once again made history. But the season did not end here for Dejan Sztankovics’ team, as Fradi will play against Nyíregyháza of the NB II on Wednesday. Due to the reconstruction of its own stadium, Nyíregyháza will also host Ferencváros in Balmazújváros on Wednesday, but the VAR system is not installed there, meaning the referee cannot use the video referee’s help. The last time the two teams met was in March 2015 – as they have not played in the same league since then – and they played a goalless draw in the county seat of Szabolcs. They previously played two matches in the Hungarian Cup: in 1986, a 3-1 away win, and in 2003, a 1-1 draw in Nyíregyháza. In the latter case, FTC advanced with penalties (4-3).
In addition to 24 Hungarian Cup victories, Ferencváros has nine silver medals, Nyíregyháza has reached the quarter-finals twice in the past ten years (2014, 2016).
