Be a person and a doping expert on your feet who understands and navigates the case that has just erupted. According to the news, 23 Chinese swimmers competed in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics without doping tests beforehand. The Sydney-based Daily Telegraph reported in its Saturday edition that competitors were exposed to trimetazinide as recently as 2020. However, with the agreement of the international federation (World Aquatics) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Chinese anti-doping authorities were cleared of the charges without any sanctions because the samples were found to be contaminated.

There was an illegal drug

The newspaper quoted Professor Olivier Rabin, WADA’s director of medicine, who said that the relevant WADA department reviewed the case before the Tokyo Olympics, and also received information about the contamination from the product’s manufacturer.

Finally, we conclude that there is no concrete basis to question the alleged contamination

– added Rabin, who is quoted by eurosport.hu, adding: the 23 swimmers had a low concentration of trimetazidine in their bodies, probably ingested through food, and their innocence is also proven by the fact that many of them presented several samples over several days, which showed both negative and positive fluctuated between

Among other things, trimetazidine increases endurance and the efficiency of blood supply, and was originally used as a prescription heart medication.

The Chinese deny it

Of course, China did not leave the accusations unsaid either, which also leaves its mark on the preparations for the Paris Olympics.

“This information is misleading and not factual,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wen-pin, who said the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) response to the matter was very clear.

“After the China Anti-Doping Center thoroughly and thoroughly investigated the case in 2021,

it was established that the athletes involved had consumed contaminated substances without their knowledge.

I would also like to emphasize that the Chinese government has always maintained a position of zero tolerance in doping cases,” says Vang in the MTI report.

Progressive Hungarians?

It is still early, but there are bodies, mainly in the United States, which are already predicting the cancellation of the Chinese results… According to international media reports, 23 Chinese swimmers failed the doping test before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, but thirteen of them participated in the games. The Olympics were held in 2021 due to the coronavirus epidemic, and the 30-member Chinese swimming team won six medals in Tokyo, including three golds. Among other things, in the women’s 4×200 relay, where the Americans would advance to first place, the Hungarian relay (Zsuzsanna Jakabos, Laura Veres, Ajna Késely, Kapás Boglárka) would be sixth instead of seventh. if Zhang Yufei were to be disqualified in the women’s 200m butterfly, Kapás would jump to the third step of the podium behind Regan Smith and Hali Flickinger, i.e. she would receive a bronze medal.
