As we reported, on Sunday he won the second ATP triumph of his career at the ATP 250 clay court tennis tournament in Bucharest with a total prize money of 579,000 euros – he waited 2157 days for this. He jumped twenty-nine places from 82nd to 53rd in the world rankings. This is the biggest jump among the top 200, and two people far behind him advanced by twenty-eight. With his current position, Fucsovics came very close to winning the Olympic participation in Paris. In order to qualify, you have to be in the first 56 in the world ranking on June 10th, but at the same time, a maximum of four players per nation can participate in the summer games, so additional positions will be eligible for quota.

Márton Fucsovics forward, Zsombor Piros backward

At the ATP 500 clay-court tournament in Barcelona with a total prize money of 2.7 million euros, Fábián Marozsán reached the round of 16, but he still improved his position by two places, ranking 37th as the best Hungarian. Novak Djokovic of Serbia, Janik Sinner of Italy and Carlos Alcaraz of Spain are still in the top three positions.

The bad news is that the biggest drop among the top 200 is attributed to the name of the number three Hungarian player: Zsombor Piros has dropped 38 places, so he is now 160.

Annna Bondár returned to the top 100 for women. The current number one Hungarian female player played in the final of the ITF tournament in Chiasso, Switzerland, with a total prize of 75,000 dollars, and improved thirteen positions on the ranking list to 95. Dalma Gálfi dropped two places to 137th, Udvardy Panna slipped one place to 151st, while winner of the WTA tournament in doubles on Sunday 180 remained. The Polish Iga Swiatek is still in the lead, followed by the Belarusian Arina Szabalenka and the American Coco Gauff.
