As we reported, Budapest Honvéd won 4-0 against Pécs in the 29th round of the Merkantil League with a confident game. The success against PMFC means that Kispest has moved away from the relegation zone of the NB II and can improve its current 8th place by a good hair.
In the match against Pécs, 2,000 fans were outside in the Bozsik Arena. The home team pulled out a message in Italian, which translated into Hungarian reads: “Congratulations on promotion to Serie C!”.
The announcement was addressed to the friends of the Kispest fans, the supporters of Union Clodiense Chioggia, whose team won promotion to the Italian third division, Serie C. Chioggia also overtook the great rival Treviso, which was also in Serie A nearly twenty years ago. Honvéd fans and their Italian friends actively attend each other’s matches, so next year they can do so in the third division. At least if they meet in Italy.
The Italian club’s stadium is named after the Ballarin brothers, born in the city of Chioggia. Dino and Aldo were both players of Grande Torino (Dino “only” as an amateur), whose members died in a plane crash on May 4, 1949.
