There is nothing surprising in the fact that after a defeat, tempers boil over on the losing side, but it is rare for the club to accuse the referee of partiality on the official social media platform. Especially when we are talking about one of the strongest leagues in the world, if not the strongest.
This is exactly the situation in the Premier League. In Sunday’s Everton-Nottingham Forest championship, the home team won 2-0, and after the match, the guests demanded three penalties from the refereeing staff and the VAR, and they wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that it was already reported to the referees’ organization (PGMOL) that Luton pushers were sitting in the VAR room.
“Three extremely bad decisions – three missed penalties – which we simply cannot accept says the statement. – Before the match, we warned PGMOL that the referee involved in the VAR was a Luton fan, but he was not replaced.
