Mosonmagyaróvár got off to an excellent start, Zsófi Szemerey neutralized two domestic attacks, while the teammates scored three goals on the other side. Loki reduced its three-goal deficit by the seventh minute, but the visiting team still gained step advantages – the players from Debrecen took the lead for the first time with Petrus Mirtill’s empty-net goal from his own nine following a steal (8-7).
Óvár started again (three goals in a row in one minute), and then Loki picked up again. The game continued in the same way in the second half of the game, only the roles were reversed: DVSC was now ahead, by three (16–13) after Petrus’ fifth goal, but at the break the advantage was reduced to a minimum again, with Zsófia Stranigg’s fourth goal, the visitors came back (16–15).
At the beginning of the second half, Gabriel unnerved the visitors with several saves, the effectiveness of the attacks in Debrecen improved, and slowly but surely the advantage of the home team increased. In the beginning, the question was whether Loki would be able to offset Mosonmagyaróvár’s autumn victory (23-30) in terms of the number of goals – this did not work out in the extremely exciting final game, in the comparison of the two, Óvár remained one goal better.
DVSC, which has won six championships in a row, is currently ahead of the competition for third place in terms of points lost, but unlike its rival, it still has to play Győr and FTC.
