Fuel prices: the latest KSH report is here, gasoline is 4 percent more expensive here than in regional countries

In Hungary, the average price of 95-octane motor gasoline was HUF 648, while in regional countries it was HUF 623.

The Central Statistical Office (KSH) published its experimental fuel price statistics at 9:30 on Friday. According to the latest data

  • In Hungary, the average price of 95-octane motor gasoline was HUF 648, while in regional countries it was HUF 623. The average price in Hungary was 4 percent, i.e. HUF 25, higher than the regional average.

  • The average weekly price of diesel fuel in Hungary was HUF 649, which was HUF 27 or 4.3 percent higher than the regional average price of HUF 622.

If we specifically look at the neighboring countries, the situation is not much rosier either. In neighboring countries, the average price of gasoline was HUF 638, the Hungarian price exceeded this by 1.6 percent, i.e. HUF 10, reports Világgazdaság. The average price of diesel in our area is HUF 638, which is higher than the Hungarian figure by 1.7 percent, i.e. HUF 11.

KSH published its first experimental statistics on April 19. The average price of 95 gasoline in Hungary increased by HUF 8 compared to the previous week’s data, although the regional average also increased by HUF 3. The average price of diesel in Hungary fell by HUF 5 in one week. The regional average price fell to a lesser extent, by only HUF 1.

Great Martin the Minister of National Economy announced on Wednesday: the government calls on fuel dealers to adjust their prices to the regional average on a voluntary basis.

According to experts interviewed by 24.hu, the government should not push the solution to the problem of high fuel prices onto the fuel dealers, since about half of the price is tax.
