Tents covered the campuses of American universities, pro-Palestinian demonstrations turned into incidents

According to a BBC report last week

more than 100 students were arrested in a protest camp set up on the grounds of Columbia University,

and in recent days, dozens of students at Yale and New York University have met the same fate. Many were suspended at Columbiaso the demonstrators demand the termination of disciplinary measures, while some students of the university reported anti-Semitic harassment by the demonstrators.

The university on Tuesday gave the protesters a deadline of midnight to disperse, which was extended by 48 hours. Dr. Nemat ShafikColumbia’s president previously warned that if no agreement was reached with the protesters, he would have to consider “alternative options” to dismantle the camps before graduation ceremonies at the end of the month.

The incidents some US lawmakers, including New York Republican Rep Elise Stefanik also attracted the attention of the person who stated that an “unsanctioned mob” made the campus “unsafe for Jewish students and faculty.” The Democratic White House highlighted the students’ right to peaceful protest, but condemned it “calls for violence and physical intimidation directed at Jewish students.”
