One was created on Steam Advanced Access (advanced access) category, for games that are available in some way before release, for example for those who purchase a premium edition. The purpose of this was to close a loophole that could be used to circumvent the refund rules, IGN reported.

Most recently, it was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, where for an extra $30, those who reached into their wallets could get access to the game three days early. However, those who knew about the loophole did not suffer a big loss, as they could claim their money back after the official start of the game, since the playing time of this period was not included in the two-hour limit until the amount paid can be officially claimed back. Until now, because from now on you can also watch this on Steam.

Therefore, the rule remains that we can request a refund for less than two hours of playing time within two weeks of purchasing a game, but playing time during the newly created Advanced Access period is now also included in these two hours. And on the page of TopSpin 2K25, which is coming soon, we can already see how Steam indicates this.
