Primark’s first store in Hungary will open on May 28

--

Primark will open its doors to customers at the Aréna Mall in Budapest on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 a.m., the store chain announced.

The more than 3,100 square meter store will sell women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, as well as home furnishings, beauty products and accessories. Primark will employ 180 people in Hungary.

In January of last year, the international fashion store chain Primark announced that it was coming to Hungary. Hungary will be the sixth country in Central and Eastern Europe, and the seventeenth worldwide, where a Primark store operates.

Hungarians may be familiar with Primark, which has been in existence since the end of the sixties, originally Irish, but now in British hands, primarily from rummaging and shopping in Western Europe. Although it has not yet appeared in the country, Primark is also very popular among Hungarians, so much so that there are travel agencies that organize bus trips so that Hungarian tourists can shop in the store chain’s store in Vienna.

We wrote in detail in this article why it is not so good news that another fast fashion chain is coming to Hungary, which offers its customers a huge amount of cheap, yew-life fashion.

Primark has been expanding in the Central European region for years. In June 2019, it opened its first store in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and currently operates 12 stores in five markets in Slovenia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia. In addition to the opening in Budapest, Primark is continuing its expansion plans in the Central and Eastern European region: in the next year, it will open stores in Timisoara in Romania, Prague in the Czech Republic and Bydgoszcz in Poland.
