Lithuania sent armored vehicles to Ukraine

  • Russian forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on the town of Kostyantinyivka in the Donetsk region, as a result of which five local residents were injured, said Vadim Filaskin, the governor of the region. The victims were diagnosed with multiple shrapnel wounds, two are in serious condition. In addition, facades of residential buildings, cars and wires were damaged. Two civilians died in the vicinity of Pokrovsk as a result of Russian attacks. “In just one day, the Russians fired 15 times on the settlements of the Donetsk region. 130 people, including 19 children, were evacuated from the front line,” added the governor.
  • Serhiy Liszak, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk county in the eastern part of the country, announced that the Russian army launched a rocket attack in the vicinity of the county seat, Dnipro, and according to the information so far, eight local residents were injured.
  • Ukrainian Prime Minister Denisz Smihal announced at the government meeting that the government has allocated more than 8 billion hryvnias (75 billion forints) from the state budget for the construction of fortifications. “According to this, since the beginning of the year, we have allocated almost 38 billion hryvnias (355 billion forints) to strengthen the defense lines, and we will not stop there,” the Prime Minister added.
  • Lithuania has announced that it has delivered M577 command and body armored vehicles to Ukraine. According to the information, the armored vehicles arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday.
  • The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine announced that two people were officially suspected of organizing the disconnection of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant from the unified Ukrainian energy system.
  • Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that London is launching a new aid program worth 500 million pounds (215 billion forints) to Ukraine. According to Jens Stoltenberg, the British aid package shows the UK’s “huge commitment to Ukraine”. Regarding the planned increase in British defense spending, the Secretary General praised London’s “enormous role” within NATO.

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had a telephone conversation with the British Prime Minister. Sunak informed him that Great Britain allocated the largest defense support package to Ukraine to date, amounting to half a billion pounds. He emphasized that everything on the list is “really needed by Ukraine on the battlefield.”
  • A White House statement confirmed that US President Joe Biden told Zelensky that “his administration will quickly provide significant new security assistance packages to meet Ukraine’s urgent battlefield and air defense needs once the National Security Amendment is passed by the Senate and he signs it.”
  • European ministers said they would urgently look at how to better strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, but made no concrete promises to deliver the Patriot systems, which Kiev prefers the most.
  • At the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the agreement was approved, according to which Ukraine can import its products into the European Union, including agricultural products, for another year, mostly without tariff and quantitative restrictions. Details here >>>>
  • According to the Ukrainian General Staff’s battlefield situation report on Tuesday, the Russian army’s casualties in Ukraine exceeded approximately 461,000. The previous day, Ukrainian forces destroyed, among other things, five Russian tanks, 29 artillery and one air defense system, as well as 23 drones.
