We stand at 24 percent among sure party voters

--

Péter Magyar, the vice-chairman of the Tisza Party, was the first guest of the Telex election program, where he talked about the fact that his party’s support is growing day by day, and that, according to him, they have already outgrown the Democratic Coalition. If they get one representative to the European Parliament, it will already be considered a success, but it is not ruled out that they will win 5-7 mandates. According to Magyar, Gergely Gulyás covertly threatened him in the latest government briefing.

Magyar was first asked by our colleague Tamás Fábián what he knew about the support of the Tisza Party. Magyar said that he has already seen poll data, and one will be published on Friday, according to which 25 percent of sure party voters would vote for them. According to him, if one representative gets into the EP, that is already a fantastic success, but he does not rule out five, six or seven seats. He said that he is not a fan of tactical voting, but whoever casts his vote for the parties below the five percent threshold will support Fidesz on the compensation list.

Magyar said that it is not their express goal to defeat the DK in the EP elections, but according to him, they already have three times as many voters. He does not want to deal with opposition parties, but his goal is to eventually have a new government for Hungary.

Magyar sees that Fidesz has lost hundreds of thousands of voters and that the ruling party is still on the decline, but he also does not believe that it will suddenly become a 20 percent party, but he noted that anything can happen before the elections.

Tamás Menczer from Fidesz announced that they have fifty thousand activists, to which Magyar said that they are still a garage company, although they already have thousands of activists. The vice president of the Tisza Party believes in the rural presence. “I recommend this to all politicians. If you dare and have something to say, go among the people. Orbán also did this, but that is already in the past.”

According to him, with their nationwide campaign that started in Békés county, they proved that their party is not a Belpes media heck, and that they are already the strongest in the cities with county rights. He believes that he does not need to mobilize his voters very much right before the elections, because they are very committed, people who have never voted or voted ten or twenty years ago are standing by him. The party’s goal is to have delegates in 22,000 voting districts with the help of civil organizations.

A few days ago, according to the Fidesz campaign, Péter Magyar is a member of the dollar left, but he does not deal with this, and this discrediting does not work. He said that more and more former Fidesz members think that this propaganda, which is carried out with taxpayers’ money, is junk and lies. According to Magyar, Fidesz is only protecting its regular voters with these campaigns.

The president of the Tisza Party was also asked how he interprets Gergely Gulyás’ enigmatic speech in the latest government briefing. Magyar said that he could only guess, but if he were a code breaker, he would interpret this as a threat intended for him. He said that some sensitive information might get out “that, for example, I stole the money from which Lőrinc Mészáros bought a yacht, or that I stole it instead of Simonka or Boldog, and then my popularity will collapse.” By the way, Magyar also added that according to his information, Gulyás, who was on good terms with him before, will not be a minister for long. He also talked about the fact that he still has connections with Orbán’s circle.

“They believe in Fidesz, in the eagle’s nest, that those who are inside love them and all agree with them, but there are those who just work and earn money, but they don’t want this baggage in the middle of their back,” he said.
