Pat Cortina’s team with a 2–0 win over the South Koreans started the tournament, while the Dutch lost to the French 5–1.

The two teams already met in a warm-up match on Thursday, when the Hungarians triumphed 7-1, and they were still in the lead. The Dutch defense lasted until the 13th minute, at that time Zsófia Pázmándi shot under the crossbar with a man advantage.

After the turn, the Dutch were also spinning more, they hit the crossbar once. Right before the break though Reka Dabasi dug in a rebound from close range, thus doubling the Hungarian advantage.

The Cortina team also defended well in the final stage and won this match without conceding a goal. Anikó Németh finished with 26 saves this time.

The Hungarians will meet the Norwegian team on Wednesday, the host team Austria on Friday, and the French team on Saturday. From the tournament – the Hungarian matches of which are broadcast by Sport Tv – the first two places are promoted to the elite, while the last one is relegated to division I/B.

Hungary-Netherlands 2-0 (1–0, 1–0, 0–0)
