The next two racket collections, BL002 and BL003, will be developed in the coming years. The project aims to combine Babolat’s extensive expertise in racket technology and game mechanics with Automobili Lamborghini’s expertise in the design and processing of carbon fiber materials.

The brand new unisex BL001 racket will be available in five Lamborghini colors: Giallo Eye (yellow), Verde Viper (green), Arancio Livrea (orange), Viola Pasifae (purple), Verde Gea (green). The sports equipment is produced in the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese by Automobili Lamborghini’s special division for the production of carbon fiber parts. The extremely limited sports equipment is designed using the same tools, processes and materials used in the production of the Italian manufacturer’s supercars. While Babolat already uses carbon fiber in its racket production, the BL001 will benefit from Automobili Lamborghini’s unmatched carbon fiber expertise in automotive manufacturing.

The collaboration, inspired by the chassis design of the supercar, creates a surface with an extremely rigid outer monocoque frame that optimizes the deformation of the impact zone. The monocoque structure extending into the handle allows direct hand contact with the frame, thus ensuring perfect control of the racket with the best comfort and exceptional power transmission for high ball speeds.

Both the high-strength composite fibers used to create the rigid frame and the other materials used in the revolutionary racket are directly derived from technological solutions that enable the high performance of Lamborghini’s super sports cars. The technical development and design of the BL001 is the result of close cooperation between the research and development and product development teams of Babolat and Automobili Lamborghini for nearly six months. The BL001 is manufactured using an ultra-precise process and 100% handmade, then tested by Babolat experts on the court and in the laboratory, like all new rackets.

This bold, unexpected and unique limited edition of 50 rackets will be Babolat and Automobili Lamborghini’s first padel racket on the market. The carbon fiber processing technologies and expertise developed during the initial collaboration on BL001 will be applied to commercial models in the future. In the coming years, Babolat will produce two more racquets, the BL002 and BL003, at its padel studio near Barcelona, Spain.

WHAT IS PADEL?!

Padel is one of the most entertaining, community racket ball games. Mostly a combination of wallball or squash and tennis, both in terms of the court, the equipment or the rules. Padel is a sport that combines action with fun and social interaction. It’s a great sport for players of all ages and abilities because it’s quick and easy to learn. Most players will learn the basics within the first half hour of playing, so you can enjoy the game quickly. Padel is not so much dominated by strength, but more by technique, since points are scored through strategy, not pure strength, so it is an ideal game for men, women, young and old to even compete with each other.

PADEL HISTORY

Mexican Enrique Corcuera is considered the inventor of padel tennis. According to the story, in 1969, he decided to build an approximately three-meter-high wall at the rear of his villa, facing the garden, as a complement to the already existing walls facing each other. He attached two walls of medium height to the walls on each side, and closed the sides with a metal fence. This is how the 20×10 meter track was created. He put a net in the middle. He invented the rules so that they were the same as in tennis, with the change that the walls could also be used.

PADEL RACKET

Padel is played with special rackets specially designed for this sport, which is much lighter than a tennis racket, so anyone can easily control the game with it. Its amazing diversity and the graphics on the surface make the padel rackets a particularly attractive sight.

PADEL BALL

The ball belonging to the game has the same appearance and size as a tennis ball, but at the same time has a looser structure, so the average 90-minute match can be enjoyed and played through with less stamina.
