Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed his previous statement that the Russians are preparing to occupy the city of Khasiv Yar in the near future, namely on May 9. The date is of great importance in Russia, as it is Victory Day, meaning that World War II ended on this day. According to Moscow’s propaganda, they are now fighting against “Nazi formations” in Ukraine in the same way as they did almost eight decades ago. However, the time frame is particularly tight, as for now the Russians are limited to a small town of 12,000 people before the war.

According to Zelensky, the Ukrainians will be able to stop the attacking formations at the city.

According to the Ukrainian president, the situation on the front line is currently very worrying, as the country’s defenders are lacking in almost everything. There are not enough means to defend against drones, and the difference between the parties has risen to a critical level in terms of artillery ammunition. Nevertheless, he is optimistic, as he believes that if the American aid package arrives in time, there is a good chance that they will be able to successfully fight against the attacking formations.

He also said that

Moscow has decided to mobilize 300,000 people, and it is expected that the country would like to significantly increase the number of its units by June 1.

The development would mean that the Russians could be preparing for a large-scale invasion.
