The Cycling Club expects that the city administration will make cycling even safer in the future.

Today, at the I bike Budapest parade, we biked through the city with more than fifteen thousand participants, so that in the future the city management will make Budapest even safer and bikeable

– the Hungarian Cycling Club wrote on its Facebook page about Saturday’s cycling procession.

The usual spring bike parade traveled through the city center on a modified route, the cyclists started from the Népliget, crossed the Petőfi Bridge to Buda, where they went along the lower quay, and then returned to the Pest side via the Tunnel and the Chain Bridge. Once again, the parade ended with the unmissable joint bike lift in the Városliget.

Regardless of party affiliation, the Bicycle Club tries to represent those who travel by bicycle and those who wish to travel. Accordingly, it strives for a professional partnership with the current political leadership, regardless of party affiliation.

They have now summarized in 12 points what kind of developments they think would be necessary until 2029. Their goal is that, based on the needs of the population, many more people can travel by bicycle than at present, and that the missing developments will ensure this. Some of the points include the creation of a traffic-proportioned bicycle budget, the further development of bicycle storage in the suburbs and Bubi, and the creation of the entire main bicycle network in the city center. The mayoral candidates responded to their inquiry regarding their points, and the Cycling Club also published the commitments.
