The Capital City Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against 2 juvenile boys and their companions who, in the fall of 2022, in Csepel, destroyed a dog and fatally injured its owner after an argument.
According to the indictment, the injured man from October 1 to 2, 2022, the XXI. He was walking in the district with his staffordshire terrier dog. The victim got into an altercation with a group of 5 people, which included the accused, a 16- and 17-year-old juvenile boy and 2 adult men, and one of the men’s dog, also with Staffordshire breed traits, was also with them.
During the altercation, the two dogs jumped at each other and started fighting, before the defendants pulled out the knives they had and threatened to beat the victim and kill him and his dog. After that, one of the knife-wielding attackers kicked the victim, who as a result fell to the ground, while the others poked his dog, but the two continued fighting. After the victim stood up, he went to the fighting dogs to separate them, but then the 16-year-old boy stabbed him several times, and then his 17-year-old companion also stabbed him, while the defendants killed the victim’s dog.
The victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Capital City accuses the attackers of the crime of animal cruelty and – the 2 juveniles as accomplices and the 2 adults as accomplices – of attempted murder. In the indictment, the General Prosecutor’s Office made a motion to impose prison and juvenile prison sentences against the defendants, proposing to establish that they cannot be released on parole. In relation to one adult with a criminal record, the General Prosecutor’s Office also proposed ordering the execution of two previous suspended prison terms.
The defendants were previously under arrest and are currently under criminal supervision.
