The trip starts again, this time to Germany – what awaits the Hungarians until the European Championship after winning the group

--

The Hungarian national football team already qualified for the European Championship in Germany on Thursday, but by defeating Montenegro, they also secured their first place in the group. In addition, let’s see what awaits the team and the fans until the summer of 2024.

WE WILL HAVE OPPONENTS SOON – GROUP ROUND DRAW FOR EB

In less than two weeks, it will be known which national teams Marco Rossi’s team will be in a group with at the 2024 European Championship. The draw for the group stage of the continental tournament on December 2 from 6 p.m will be held in Hamburg. The draw will be broadcast live by M4 Sport and m4sport.hu!

After the Hungarian national team’s victory against Montenegro and their group first, they are waiting for the draw from the second hat, because we didn’t make it into the top 5 of the group next to the director, but the other qualifying group leaders were automatically placed in the next hat, so are we.

THE RUSH FOR TICKETS CAN BEGIN – MORE EXACTLY IT HAS ALREADY STARTED

Hungarian fans will certainly be present in large numbers at the 2024 European Championship, as we saw, for example, at the 2016 tournament in France or at the 2021 Euro 20, which will be partly organized in Hungary.

Ticket sales for the tournament have already started. In the first phase, ten million ticket requests were received by UEFA and 1.2 million tickets were sold to the lucky ones drawn by the system. It’s true, they don’t yet know exactly which match they bought a ticket for – however, they can sell it later on the official platforms.

The second stage of ticket sales will start on December 2, after the groups have been drawn. but even in 2024 (from a date not yet known exactly), fans will still have the opportunity to get tickets on the official interface provided by UEFA.

The price of the tickets ranges from 30 (approximately HUF 11,400) to 1,000 euros – the former is the cheapest entry for the group stage, and the latter is the most expensive category for the final in Berlin. Due to the long distances between the stadiums, fans can only get tickets for one match per day, which, like previous tournaments, will only be available in digital form.

PREPARATION MATCHES AND TRAINING CAMP: WE CAN HAVE FOUR MORE MATCHES BEFORE THE EC

Since our national team qualified directly for the European Championship, it does not have to play an additional qualifier during the national team break between March 18 and 26, 2024, so Roland Sallai will certainly play in two preparatory matches.

The national championships will end in May throughout Europe, so the players can prepare together 2-3 weeks before the European Championship, and in June they will be able to play in more preparatory matches. In 2016 and 2021, the national team played two training matches immediately before the European Championship, so there is a good chance that next year’s before the tournament in Germany, we can see the national team on the pitch up to four times.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, 26 players could be nominated for the previous continental tournament, but based on UEFA’s announcement, it is now certain that the captains will again be able to name only 23 players for the 2024 Euro squad – the last frame announcement will certainly take place at the beginning of May.

WHAT EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR: THE 2024 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

And then comes the most important date: The European Championship starts on June 14, 2024. The German continental tournament (which ends in Berlin on July 14) will host matches in ten cities: Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Gelsenkirchen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Leipzig.

This is good news, as several venues will be easily accessible from Hungary by car or bus, and according to UEFA’s promise, ticket holders will also be able to buy a discounted train pass – the European federation will inform fans about the exact details of this later, and the tickets will start selling from January 17 to sell.

What is certain is that the Hungarian national team will be there in Germany, and you will be able to follow their performance at the continental tournament on M4 Sport and m4sport.hu.
