5 lifelong lessons the Harry Potter movies teach us

--

If you are sometimes unsure of where to go next, or if you are unmotivated, a Harry Potter movies they can be just as great relaxation today as they were many years ago, and can even give you strength even on the hardest days. But even if you don’t have time to watch TV right now, it’s definitely worth taking some travel tips with you, if only because they can be useful even decades from now.

Choose your friends wisely

Do you also remember that in the first part of the film series it seemed for a moment that Harry and Draco Malfoy might even be good friends? Harry, on the other hand, preferred to listen to his instincts, and Ron and Hermione, looked down upon by Draco, became his best friends. And it soon became clear that he had made a great decision, as they both stood by him until the final battle – and beyond.

Although their trio also had disagreements, quarrels, and problems – not to mention the fact that they also experienced the difficulties of adolescence together – they overcame everything, proving that friendship is an unbreakable bond. All these things perfectly highlight that if we want to have really good friends by our side in life, we always look at their true values, not our interests.

If you need help, dare to speak

Harry had to face various – sometimes downright terrifying – challenges in each episode. At first, in almost every case, he felt that he had to solve them alone, but along the way, sooner or later, he always realized that he had to dare to ask for help from his teachers, friends and others, because that was the only way he could win. In this way, he taught us that no matter what difficulties we face, we can do much better for ourselves if we don’t try to fight it alone.

5 Harry Potter scenes that didn’t make it into the movies, even though they should have been there

Appearances are sometimes deceiving

Do you remember how good Harry thought Professor Mogus was at first, then it was a huge surprise to him when it turned out that he was amazingly close to the Dark Lord? Or when he was confronted with how much of a con man Gilderoy Lockhart really is? From the first part to the last, you have experienced in many cases that people are not always what they seem.

And the biggest lesson for him, without a doubt, was when he faced him, that Professor Snape protected him from the beginning, fought for him. And these events show perfectly why it is important to first always try to get to know people more thoroughly, and only then form a good or bad opinion about them.

Wealth is relative

We already learned in the first episode that Harry has a lot of gold galleons in the bank, while his best friend Ron was in a much more difficult financial situation and couldn’t even afford to buy candy on the train. However, Ron had a family and Harry considered that a much greater asset. But just as Harry had offered Ron the various delicacies on the train, so Harry also received plenty of love from the Weasley family, and this only made their friendship even more beautiful.

We all die, but we don’t all really live

“Don’t target the dead, Harry! Pity the living, and especially those who live without love” – said Professor Dumbledore to Harry in the last film, thereby telling what we can all consider one of the most important lessons of our lives. After all, if time just passes and we don’t really live life with love, including good and bad moments, then we can deprive ourselves of many wonderful moments.
