We have collected ten works that will be added to the offer of a streaming service provider this week, and which will be worth giving a try. THE Now or never! after this week you can finally see how the Poles produce a historical adventure film.

Some of the featured titles may have been available on other providers for a long time, but since the average user does not have all subscriptions, we thought that the premiere of a particular platform could be important information for many.

Here are, in our opinion, the most important presentations of the week:

Tigers of India

Disney+, April 22.

We haven’t recommended a nature film yet, but the teaser of the piece embraced by Disneynature brought tears to our eyes, it’s so beautiful. The title places the work in space and the theme is also given. We could look at these pictures for days.

Forrest Gump

Netflix, April 22.

We don’t think there are too many people who haven’t seen Robert Zemeckis’s film yet, but for their sake it’s definitely important to highlight this information: the Forrest Gump will be available on Netflix this week. Whether you are watching it for the first time or many times, this work is a great experience, even though the taste of sugar syrup lingers a bit here and there in the viewer’s mouth.

The invitation

Netflix, April 23.

In this moving horror, the Game of Thrones his actress Nathalie Emmanuel’s character learns that she is distantly related to the English aristocracy. The members of his new family are so nice that he invites him to a wedding, which promises to be very good, but nothing goes as it should. The castle is creepy, the relatives are very strange, and the maids keep disappearing.

We are all strangers

Disney+, April 24.

Despite being awarded at BAFTA and Golden Globe, the We are all strangers last year he avoided Hungarian cinemas. Never mind, this mystical drama is finally coming, in which a writer in his forties returns home after many decades of absence to try to process his childhood traumas.

Antares de la Luz: The end is near

Netflix, April 25.

Netflix is undeniably very good at one thing: it can surprise its audience week after week with exciting documentaries that are not available anywhere else. This time, it presents a sect created by the title character, a deadly manipulator named Antares de la Luz, whose story shook Chile in 2012.

The dead don’t die

HBO Max, April 26.

It’s pretty common to say that Jim Jarmusch’s 2019 zombie comedy didn’t do well, but the film is packed with stars like Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Danny Glover, Steve Buscemi or the increasingly popular Austin Butler, and also the director’s inimitable style, can be a pain in the ass, so we would encourage everyone to feel free to give it a try and form their own opinion about the cinema.

French Kiss

HBO Max, April 26.

A charming romantic comedy from the days when Meg Ryan could still move her face. Her character tries to deal with the illusion of the city of lovers in Paris together with the guy portrayed by Kevin Kline, but in the end they get tangled up in each other’s schedule.

Mamma Mia!

HBO Max, April 26.

This film is at least as often cursed for its kitsch as it is praised for its unbridled fun and joie de vivre. There is no doubt that it has some very awkward moments – especially the signing of Pierce Brosnan, who is beaten with zero vocals, is hard to forgive – but the great ABBA songs, the colorful location and the charming atmosphere of summer make us love this cheerful musical.

Aries

SkyShowtime, 26 April.

The Poles also shot a large-scale historical film last year, the title character of which is a national hero named Tadeusz Kościuszko, who also fought in America, then returned home and led a war of independence against the Russian, Prussian and Austrian troops that had settled in the country. THE Now or never! after, it will be interesting to see how our northern friends cope with this genre.

How is Katya?

HBO Max, April 26.

We are not flooded with pieces of Ukrainian cinema these days either, which is why it will be interesting to see the family drama of Christina Tynkevych, who was born in Kyiv but studied cinematography in London, in which we can follow the struggles of a 35-year-old single mother. The work received two awards at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2022.
