The second part of Rebel Moon is far from unwatchable or bad, but it is not a Star Wars

There is only one thing worse than the so-called hype, or the process when the media and the fan community pick up on an upcoming movie/game (or whatever) well in advance. And this is the inconsistent and unrealistic “criticism”, when the positives and negatives do not matter, because modern, progressive Internet users decide, as a result of an experience or feeling, that a film, a game, or any work is just ” it can be “god king” or “shit”, there is no transition, and this affects the creators.

In other words, if it has been decided that someone is doing “shit”, then

from now on, sophisticated art lovers follow the director’s or actor’s every move, his films, so that they can proudly say on every occasion: “I watched it, but I’ve seen such crap a long time ago”.

And of course the end result can be any, the conclusion is still this. Let’s leave the offended “review bombing” behind, because there are few things more pathetic and childish.

Snyder as the reincarnation of Ed Wood?

But back to prejudices: a Prometheus after the Ridley Scott hatred, during which they already wished for his death Alien creator, Zack Snyder has also joined the illustrious company in recent years. Of course the 300 in his time, he was the infallible directing genius, who dreamed Frank Miller’s comic book onto the screen like no one else – it was, by the way, modernized with great flair Dawn of the Dead let’s leave it because many people were unable to break away from Romero’s form-breaking and sufficiently provocative, but decades-long vision – and then with the DC films he entered the vicious circle from which he cannot escape well no matter what he does.

And when he embarked on his own vision together with Netflix, the Rebel Moonba, it was already possible to record what kind of reactions were born. Last year’s first part – which was nothing more than an average sci-fi epic, but in a better than average implementation – also got its due,

regardless, it brought the best viewership at the time of the premiere, and this is expected to be no different for the second part, which debuted a few days ago,

since the Punisher presumably, it lost at least as many viewers in the first three days as its predecessor. But how is the film, which many consider to be the worst film of all time?

Back to the warm up

The first part was a fairly overextended introduction, in which we got to know the former imperial soldier, Kora (Sofia Boutella), while he protected the peasant inhabitants of a small planet from the imperial corps searching for rebels and its evil leader, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein).

He gathered an early team, tried to find the rebels to save the inhabitants of a village together, but ended up walking into a trap and clashed with the admiral, who lost his life. At least our heroine lived in this awareness, but the viewer knew very well that she managed to save the admiral, who in the second part wants to solve once and for all the problem caused by Kora, or Sebejtő with a dark past, while she and the already existing team he trains locals so that if the warship representing the King’s gaze were to enter the atmosphere again and the army to the planet, then they would be able to defeat them.

Rebel Moon Beach 1.1

So basically we get it

the same conflict, with a twist, in a slightly bigger way.

But it’s still the Rebel Moon, whose story barely develops, its characters barely develop, and its opponent and location remain the same. Which is not a problem anyway, because the evil admiral is perhaps the most characterful two-dimensional character in the story, while we can count on one hand who, apart from him, is a little more memorable or remarkable.

It’s the classic tale of good and evil, with the general topos and archetypes, not a little pathos, a little drama, but at least twice as many heroic settings, some orbital bullshit. However, its mood is not bad, nor is its music, and there are generally no complaints about its pictures.

It is characteristic of Snyder that he knows visuals better than writing,

and this is the Punisheralso stands out, which in terms of its story and dialogues only puffs up the clichés, but the atmosphere is fine, we enjoy a little more the more fights, which culminate in spectacular clashes, and even though the slow motions can block Duna here, they also have some charm,

and reaping, we have never seen anyone in such heroic settings as the protagonists get.

What’s more, for the third part (and the other sequels, especially since Snyder is already thinking about a 6-episode length), we got another story thread to build on, while a chapter was closed. We’ll see what we can get out of this, but it wouldn’t hurt at all if the director accepted some professional writing help/cooperation and minimal control. Regardless of that Rebel Moon Part 2: The Punisher far from unwatchable or bad, just not one Star Wars – although the fans ask for everything that is different from what they would expect – or 300. Because really, this sci-fi action is not the pinnacle of cinematography. However, if we look at it as a one-time entertainment, which is only a small part of a full subscription, then it can cause experiences, albeit restrained.
