Tina Turner lost her two sons in tragic circumstances

--

As successful as she was in the music field, Tina Turner faced at least as many difficulties in her personal life. His relationship with his sons was not cloudless either…

Tina Turner, who died on May 24, was the mother of two biological and two adopted sons. We have collected as much as we can about them.

Craig Raymond Turner

Craig Raymond Turner He was born on August 29, 1958, to the then 18-year-old singer and saxophonist Raymond Hill. Hill moved back to his hometown of Mississippi before his son was born. Craig was later adopted by Ike Turner Sr. when he married Tina.

In 2005, Tina told Oprah Winfrey that Craig was a very emotional child who suffered from his parents’ abusive relationship. “He always looked down sadly” said the star.

By the time Tina left Ike in 1976, Craig had already graduated. He then served in the Navy and later became a real estate agent.

On July 3, 2018, Craig committed suicide at the age of 59.

“He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my child” Tina Turner wrote on her Twitter page at the time.

The singer told BBC News in October 2018: “I still don’t know what made him make that final decision.” She noted that Craig, who lived in Los Angeles, had just gotten a new job as a real estate agent and had a new girlfriend he wanted to introduce to his mother. “He told me at the time that he had never met a woman he felt this way about.”

Later, the star said that he believed loneliness played a role in his son’s death. “I think Craig was lonely, that’s what I think affected him more than anything.”

After his death, Tina tried to focus on the good parts of Craig’s life. “I’ve been putting pictures of her smiling all over the place and I think I feel she’s in a good place.”

Ike Turner Jr.

Ike Turner Jr. Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and his then-partner Lorraine Taylor, he was later adopted by Tina Turner. “I was raised by Tina from the age of 2. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known” said the Mail on Sundayto.

Like his parents, Ike Jr. became a musician. His father took him out of school at the age of 13 so they could tour together. “In the end, I ran his recording studio, plus I went on tour with them.”

He briefly worked as Tina’s sound engineer, but after the singer broke up with her husband, Ike Sr. wanted his son and ex to end their professional relationship. “When my mom and dad divorced, he didn’t want me to work with him — and he beat me in the head with a nickel-plated .45.”

As the pinnacle of Ike Jr.’s musical career, he shared the Grammy Award for Traditional Blues Album with his father.

In 2018, Ike Jr. a Daily Mailhe revealed that he had not spoken to Tina for more than a decade. “I haven’t spoken to my mother in God knows how long – probably around 2000. She is living her life – she has a new husband and is in Europe. He wants nothing to do with the past.”
