Depeche Mode is going on tour again after five years, the Memento Mori world tour will start in Sacramento on March 23, 2023, and will reach the Puskás Arena on July 28, 2023.

2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Depeche Mode announced today in Berlin that they will release a new album and embark on a world tour in 2023. The Memento Mori tour starts after the spring release of the band’s 15th studio album of the same name.

Breaking with previous traditions, the tour will begin with North American concerts on March 23, before the summer European stadium tour. Among others, the band will be seen in New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.

Depeche Mode will begin their European stadium tour on May 16th, taking in famous venues such as Paris’ Stade de France, Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, Milan’s San Siro Stadium and London’s Twickenham Stadium. More details on the full tour itinerary and ticketing information can be found at depechemode.com.

Commenting on Memento Mori, Martin Gore said: “We started working on the record in the early stages of the pandemic, and its themes are directly inspired by the current period. After Fletch’s death, we decided to continue because we’re sure that’s what he would have wanted, and it really added meaning to the project.” Dave Gahan added: “Fletch wanted this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with the fans and performing it live at concerts next year.”

Memento Mori will be Depeche Mode’s 19th tour and their return after a hiatus of more than five years. The band’s most recent run, Global Spirit 2017-2018, was their longest tour to date, playing to more than 3 million fans in 130 shows across Europe and North America, making it one of the highest-grossing tours of the year.

Memento Mori marks Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album and is the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed Spirit, which topped the charts in 11 countries and was in the Top 5 in over 20 others. Memento Mori will be released in Spring 2023 on Columbia Records / Sony Music.

With over 100 million records sold and a fan base of more than 35 million, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving yet uniquely influential force in music. Unquestionably an inspiration to fans, critics and musicians alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour ushering in the latest chapter in their unique legacy.

Registered Live Nation members will be the first to buy tickets for the concert in Budapest on October 6, 2022 from 10 a.m. Full ticket sales will start on October 7 at 10 a.m. on www.livenation.hu and www.funcode.hu. In addition to regular tickets to the concert, various VIP packages can be purchased.
