Chew it, spit it out

We want to be successful. We dream of a world where our own faces look back at us from every direction, and where we hear our names even when no one is speaking. And our most special ability is to beat ourselves up with playful ease. We forgive all our sins, after some self-mutilation we always manage to get rid of the shame, at least we can see beyond our own noses, this calms us down, and we believe that the art, on the altar of which we sacrifice our human integrity, will redeem us.

The presentation took place as part of the Sufni project mentoring program. Rujder Vivien and Ben Bérez he wrote using his improvisations Judge Aurél Zsombor. The production Lila Kizlinger directed by

Good luck

“I am me, you are you: who is more stupid, me or you? It would be difficult to answer the cheerful, deceptive question of our childhood with cheerfulness today. Can we bear the past that doesn’t want to disappear as part of our present? In this bittersweet reminiscence, a heartbreaking family story is present, as well as traces of the past decades shared by all of us, memories of generations and family members accusing each other. And the distressing absence of a family that has vanished into thin air. All of this is made even more painful – and funnier – by the cheerful operetta tunes streaming from the radio,” says the description of the production.

Peter Horváth His play, born in 2022, will be presented for the first time by the Katona József Színház, Tamás Ascher arrangement. Contributes Gergely Kocsis, Thomas the Cross, Eszter Ónodi, Zoltán Bezerédi, Ferenc Elek, Paul Hanna and Shepherd Daniel.

Mephistopheles

András Dömötör, Benedict Albert and Kornél Laboda his play was commissioned by Berlin’s Maxim Gorki Theater in the 2015/16 season, and now a new text version of the work has been prepared for the actors of the Katona József Színház. Klaus Mann MephistophelesA dark and free-spirited comedy was created based on the elements of MephistophelesWe follow the bitter trials of the members of the rehearsing troupe. The authors wanted to examine the influence of the growing populism and nationalism in art across Europe.

“We are in the celebrated theater of the capital of Mefistóland, from which – it looks like – the previous director must go. The President and the Aorta, infuriated by the Council of the Eight, want a new director to lead the company. Let the acting finally be healthy and serene, not serve the Luciferian aesthetics of the international Jacobin forces.

Because critical thinking is a sin in Mephistopheles. You, dear viewers, can watch what the troupe does in this diabolical situation: who makes what and how big a deal to save their skin.

People are also people in Mephistopheles, even though Mephistopheles himself walks limping among them. There will be those who rebel, there will be those who happily surrender to the Darkness, and there will be those who don’t even notice that their soul has already been lost,” the creators summarized the plot of the play.

The production is directed by András Dömötör, John Bán, Andrea Fullajtár, Kanyó Kata, Little Esther, Polish Benjamin, Gabor Máté, Béla Mészáros, Big Ervin, László Szacsvay, Péter Takatsy, Bence Tasnádi and Zsófia Tóth can be seen with his contribution.
