Orosházi Református Két Tánítási Nyelvű Áltánásskola joined the series of city founding programs with diverse programs, one could say a cavalcade in English. Rounding off the festive occasion, the Talent Bridge program of the Orosházi Education Roundtable and their project called Something in English were also presented in the framework of a professional day.

The English language week of the Reformed Dual Language Primary School started on April 25, which started with a professional day. At the opening in the morning, Lilla Víghné Pintér, director of the institution, gave a welcome address, in which she emphasized that language learning is something that is essential for today’s life.

– Today’s professional day is multifaceted. We have joined the city founding week, but in addition, we are also participating in the construction of the Talent Bridge of the Education Round Table, and we have even connected our English-tuned program to today, which is also the beginning of the English language week – explained the director. – I really agree with the saying that the more languages you speak, the more people you are. Knowledge of at least one foreign language is essential for employment, culture, and travel, he emphasized.

After the opening, the professional day continued with a joint devotion, followed by a presentation by the students of class 7A. As an invited guest, Dr. János Blahó gave a lecture in which he explained the learning path from kindergarten to university. After that, the students of the reformed school and the evangelical school prepared a joint play called “A Trip to London” as the 2024 performance of “Tune to English”. According to the story, a family travels to London, who want to know everything there is to know about the big city. In the end, the students’ production was very popular, and a guest from the audience was also involved in it for the sake of an ice cream.

The morning programs were followed by several lectures in English, but of course they did not forget the traditions of St. George’s Day. Hungarian belief considered this day to be a good time for magic, and the dance performance by Bence Móricz and the students really enchanted everyone. – The children really like this program, it’s a real refreshment for them, since there is no teaching at this time, it’s all about rehearsals and performances. In addition, it really brings together Orosháza’s youth, as students come from several schools – highlighted Lilla Víghné Pintér.

Although the English language week will end next week, there is still an exciting program waiting for the students, as some of them will be able to travel to London with the school at the beginning of the summer.
