A ninth-grade student from Szolnok assaulted his teacher with a chair and a fist, for which the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Prosecutor’s Office is bringing the minor to court for the attempted crime of life-threatening bodily harm.
Rajmund Lánczi, the deputy spokesperson of the Prosecutor General’s Office, wrote in a statement sent to 24.hu that the 38-year-old teacher was giving a history lesson to ninth-graders on the day in question when she got into an argument with one of her students.
After the conflict, the young man said to the teacher: “what an irritant you are!”, and then repeated this, adding that he was going to kill the woman. In response to this, he was sent outside, but at that time he picked up the chair he was using, then, raising it towards his head, walked towards his victim standing next to the teacher’s desk and hit him with it. The teacher raised his hand in defense, so the blow hit his arm.
Holding the chair with both hands, he repeatedly hit the teacher, hitting him on the head and arm, who was even followed by the boy in the corridor.
The teacher suffered bruises and fractures, which took more than eight days to heal. The prosecutor’s office asked for a suspended prison sentence for the perpetrator, but the condition is that he be assigned a guardian and that he also participate in psychotherapy for anxiety and aggression.
