Blikk: The victims of Bicske received one hundred million in compensation, but they have not talked about it so far

The General Directorate of Social and Child Protection concluded an out-of-court settlement with nine people, to whom it paid a total of HUF 154 million.

A total of nine people received a significant amount as compensation because they were harassed in the children’s home in Bicske, Blikk wrote. The case broke out in 2016, the head of the institution, János V., was sentenced to eight years in prison for sexual violence and coercion. This year, the pardon case erupted, in which Katalin Novák granted K. Endré, known as his accomplice, a presidential pardon, and then attention was again directed to the case of harassment.

The victims announced in February 2020 that they would file a lawsuit for damages.

Blikk knows that in 2020 he also reached an agreement with the state, so he received tens of millions in damages out of court. Some of the nine victims received less money, according to the newspaper, the amount of money was probably influenced by the suffering they suffered.

This includes Péter Magyar organizing a demonstration in front of the Ministry of the Interior on Friday to demand the resignation of Minister Sándor Pintér and the entire government. According to Magyar, the government “wasn’t able to apologize to the victims in two and a half months.”
