After many difficulties and setbacks, the construction of the Kállai Kettős Rendezvényház in Nagykálló is progressing well, and the foundation stone of the new institution was officially laid on Friday. Befitting the function of the complex under construction, a real cultural cavalcade awaited the participants, as 4 For Dance, as well as young people from art associations and organizations, as well as educational institutions, will perform. Dr. was present at the event. Parliamentary State Secretary Zsófia Koncz, dr. Parliamentarian Simon Miklós, Oszkár Seszták, chairman of the county assembly, vice-chairman Endre Baracsi and Tibor Horváth, mayor of Nagykálló.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Simon Miklós talked about how the road was bumpy, but finally the city’s decades-old dream can come true.

Greater capacity, lower cost

– It will be an extremely modern building, where environmental protection aspects will also come to the fore. The capacity of the large hall and the infrastructure serving the performers will be larger than in the previous cultural center, but at the same time the energy consumption and maintenance costs will be significantly more favorable. The investment costs around HUF 1.6 billion, but it is not the only significant development that has taken place in the city in recent years. In the previous EU cycle, Nagykálló developed from about 3.5 billion forints within the framework of 11 tenders. The school was renovated, an incubator house was built, the event space next to the soccer field was completed, the Korányi house is also being renovated and a parking lot is being prepared next to the hospital – announced Dr. Miklós Simon also reported that the work does not stop, and in the coming years even more support will come to the city.

– So far, tenders worth HUF 2.5 billion have been won in the new cycle, but three or four more investments will start soon. One of the biggest investments will be the Antal Nagy Vocational Secondary School in Buda, for which the Hungarian state and the European Union will spend about HUF 6 billion – the member of parliament gave an insight into the developments of the near future.

The events will make you feel at home

“Today is a joyous day.” Many people think of Nagykálló as the Kállai double, which is part of the Hungarian identity, and we can rightly be proud of it – as already stated by Dr. Zsófia Koncz revealed it to those present. He emphasized: there are milestones in the life of every person and settlement, and the construction of an event hall is such a point in the history of Nagykálló.

– The complex will be a real community space, which the population has been waiting for for a decade. In the city, great emphasis is placed on traditions, and also on passing on folk knowledge and art to the younger generation, emphasized the state secretary.

– Soon, our city can improve not only materially, but also culturally, if the new event space is completed. Our cultural events will soon find a home, and we can also open up to new opportunities – we learned from Tibor Horváth. The mayor talked about the difficulties of the past years, and also about the many wrong decisions that led to the delay in the construction of the center.
