Sixty lavender, sixty velvet flowers and twenty sedges – this is the total number of plants planted by Fidesz representatives and volunteer activists on April 26 in Debrecen, in the square in front of Kazinczy Ferenc Primary School. In addition to the planting of flowers, the campaign also included the renovation of the benches, the entire cost of which was financed by the party within the framework of the election campaign.

– We are in the part of Debrecen that has been the absolute winner of urban developments in recent years – declared László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, after professionally planting several seedlings in the flower boxes of Margit tér.
– Tócóskert and Tócóvölgy have been renewed in many places, and we can promise that this will continue in the coming years, if we receive the trust of the residents. We paid special attention to the green areas and public spaces in these parts of the city, we created new playgrounds and sports parks on more than 100,000 square meters, and renovated the old ones, he said.
Planting flowers is just one of many measures
He pointed out that the housing estate was built more than four decades ago, which is why the road network needed to be modernized. – We have received requests from the public in this regard, and we have made significant progress in the past five years.
A section of István út and Kishegyesi út was recently renovated, and in the coming years, a comprehensive and complete renovation of Kishegyesi út is on the agenda: on the one hand, the modernization of the existing road surface from TOP Plusz funding, and on the other hand, the construction of a two-lane section

He added that, as in most housing estates, the biggest challenge in these parts of the city is the number of parking lots. – When the houses were built, the planners did not expect such a large number of cars. We were also able to pay attention to this and find a solution at several points to increase the capacity of accommodating cars, which did not reduce the green area. In any case, Tócóskert and Tócóvölgy are among the greenest residential areas in the country, we have planted 940 trees in the tree planting program in the last five years. We also put a lot of emphasis on the institutional system, in addition to the modernization of the existing institutions, we handed over a kindergarten in Tócóvölgy, and a nursery school is now being built – he listed the measures of the past years.
