Geert Wilders shouted about one and a half billion African migrants in Budapest

--

The Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders discussed the African migrants flooding Europe, no-go zones and the Macron and Merkel quagmire in his speech at CPAC Hungary.

In his speech, the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party called Viktor Orbán a “very brave leader” and stated that he hoped that other European politicians would follow the example of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s immigration policy.

In his speech, the extreme right-wing, anti-immigration Wilders warned that Africa’s population will increase fourfold, to around five billion, by the end of the century, and a third of them will want to migrate to Europe, according to him. And this must be prevented.

According to Wilders, African immigrants “don’t help our societies in any way, but only put a burden on the European welfare states”.

According to the anti-Islam politician, French President Emmanuel Macron and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel sank into the quagmire when they opened Europe’s borders to migrants, endangering Western civilization. At the end of his speech, Wilders advised the audience to continue the fight, keep their faith, fulfill their mission and be fighters for the truth.

Wilders’ party, the far-right, anti-Islam Freedom Party, surprisingly won the Dutch parliamentary election in November. However, they fell far short of the 76 mandates required for a parliamentary majority, and since then they have not been able to agree on the formation of a government coalition with the other parties. Thus, Wilders could not occupy the prime minister’s seat for the time being.

What is CPAC?

This year, the Hungarian mini-edition of the annual superconference (CPAC) organized by the (extreme) right wing of the American Republican Party, CPAC Hungary in Budapest, was held for the third time, with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as the keynote speaker every year. As in previous years, this year the Center for Fundamental Rights, which is heavily supported by public funds, is organizing the right-wing conference between April 25 and 26.

CPAC was originally the annual convention of the American right since the 1970s, the first European forum, CPAC Hungary, was organized by the Center for Fundamental Rights in 2022. According to the description, “the world’s best-known right-wing leaders, researchers and influencers will visit” CPAC Hungary. This does not hold up in this form, because neither this year nor in previous years did the Center for Fundamental Rights manage to bring a single leading American or Western European politician to Budapest. Last year, in addition to Donald Trump, the other “big name”, presenter Tucker Carlson, only greeted the participants via video message.

In his opening speech on the first day of the conference, Viktor Orbán asserted that there is a rule of law in Hungary, because according to him, if he wanted to, he could not tell a Hungarian court what the right decision was. In fact, even if he were to message me, they would definitely decide the opposite. We wrote more about Viktor Orbán’s speech on Thursday here. Alongside the Prime Minister, Fidesz faction leader Máté Kocsis and Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy also spoke on the first day of the conference. The former expressed his opinion on the fight between sovereignists and globalists, and the latter on protective tariffs against China. Former US President Donald Trump once again sent a video message to the conference instead of himself.
