With summer approaching and the arrival of tourists, it is extremely important to increase traffic safety around Lake Balaton. For this purpose, the traffic box network is also being expanded in Somogy county, taking into account public requests and traffic expert opinions.

Traffibox for the safety of Balatonlelle

The speedometer box planned for Balatonlelle will be installed at the request of local residents. The mayor of the settlement, István Kenéz according to him, the new traffic box is planned to be installed on road 7, near the Becsali tavern.
– The area is not so populated, but there are also two pedestrian crossings where motorists coming from Siófok often exceed the speed limit. The costs of the installation amount to approximately three and a half million forints, which must be approved by the representative body, informed the Sonline.humayor of the town.

Expert agreement from the police

According to the information of the Somogy County Police Headquarters, there is currently a working traffic box in Siófok, while Balatonlelle is planning the next installation. The selection of the location of the traffic boxes is based on thorough analyzes and traffic expert opinions, which is also supported by the local police.
– The installation of the traffic box is initiated by the local governments and, after consultation with the police, it is their responsibility to procure and place them. During the selection of the appropriate location, traffic specialists assess the danger of the proposed road section and analyze the traffic accident statistics that have occurred there. After installation, the police will place the speedometer in the box – we learned from the county police.
