The young pianist – who started playing the piano by hearing at the age of three – has already performed in several countries in Europe and Asia, and as a soloist has appeared with such Hungarian orchestras as the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Concerto Budapest, the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra and the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra. He regularly performs concerts with his parents, Edit Klukon and Dezső Ránki also with pianists. The audience can meet him at the Miskolc University’s Spring Festival on April 29 (Monday) from 6:00 p.m. in the Bartók Hall of the Music Palace in Miskolc. Admission to the piano evening is free.
– I put together this program by pairing two Ravel and two Liszt works with each other in such an arrangement that instead of two Liszt works being placed between two Ravel compositions, the individual pairs have a closer relationship with each other, although not in terms of musical history, he said. He shared with our portal what connects each pair of pieces: the program opens with Ravel’s Noble and emotional waltzes, which consists of seven waltzes and an epilogue, in which the epilogue is also in waltz rhythm, in which the previous movements are recalled as vague memories. This will be followed by Liszt’s Four Forgotten Waltzes, which are separate waltzes, but in their airiness, all four can be related to the Ravel pieces, so they connect very nicely.
Not so closely, but the next Liszt series, Consolations – which consists of small poetic pieces, is also connected with the Ravel work that closes the program, which is the three-movement Gaspard de la nuit, which is based on three of the poem cycle of the same name by the French poet Bertrand Ravel wrote his movement in such a way that the music faithfully follows the contents of the poem. This also connects this pair of pieces beautifully – the artist concluded his thoughts about the piano evening.
