You can travel again on Budapest’s most exciting means of transport

--

Hungary’s first passenger cable car has deservedly become one of the capital’s most popular attractions. Since 1970, the Zugligeti Libegő has been able to travel to János Mountain and back in roughly twelve minutes.

The vehicle is regularly maintained, in which case it is closed to visitors. Due to the most recent maintenance, according to the original plans, the Libegő would not have reopened until the end of April, but BKV has now announced good news.

From 10:00 on April 27th, it will again be waiting for passengers applying for the Budapest panorama.

As it was written, after the extraordinary maintenance, the specialists found everything in order during the test sessions. Tickets purchased in 2023 and not used are valid until December 31, 2024.

At the same time, the price of an adult ticket will increase by HUF 500 this year, but there are more discounted tickets available than before. The full-price, two-way ticket is 3,500 forints, 1,000 forints up to the age of fourteen, and 2,000 forints for students up to the age of 25. More information can be found on the BKV website.

Last year, there was also a plan to build a gigantic, but not seated, but sliding wire rope course in Zugliget, and the construction of a canopy training trail has already begun on Normafa. If you want to sit down, then this restaurant on Normafa can be a good choice.
