On April 24 and 25, the IV. The professional firefighters from Siófok represented the county of Somogy in the National Technical Rescue Competition.

The members of the twenty teams faced similar situations on the racetracks as they encounter every day. The goal, in addition to the professional presentation of firefighting interventions in traffic accidents, was for the participants to gain experience during the competition tasks and share them with each other.

A draw decided what kind of situation each team had to deal with, i.e. a simulated traffic accident. When scoring, the judges took into account how the fire brigades used the specialized equipment, how coordinated the teamwork was, and how they handled the cutting and tensioning adapters. They also scored the reconnaissance and the tactics chosen for the intervention. In addition to the communication between the team members and the professional radio distribution, the jury also paid special attention to the professional treatment of the injured. They investigated whether the firefighting units recognized the given injury, and also whether they provided adequate care to the person concerned. In addition to the professional execution of the simulated technical rescue, the fire brigades also fought against time, as a stopwatch measured the work of the six-person team consisting of the controller, four subordinates and a medic-trained firefighter.

The intervention of the competing teams on the first day was not helped by the heavens either. The firefighters from Siófok performed the task in torrential rain, with which they earned the rank of the seventh best team in the country.

On Thursday afternoon in Dunaföldvár, the trial ended with a ceremonial announcement of the results held at a site.
