Mayor József Macsári said: in the early 2010s, they reached the point where all streets in Szeghalm were paved. In recent years, the quality of the roads has deteriorated due to the use and load: for example, the wear layer has become cracked, and local problems have also appeared. That is why they submitted a tender for road renovation within the framework of TOP Plusz, which was successful, and thanks to the HUF 273 million grant, 14 sections will be renovated.
He emphasized that thanks to the development – also in the spirit of equal opportunities – everyone will be able to get to the city center, shops, and use public services in the right way. The quality of paved roads will be good again. Among the affected streets are residential roads, but also busy collector roads, he cited Dózsa György utca as an example.
Road renovation: the public procurement procedure is in progress
József Macsári, mayor of Szeghalom, said: the public procurement procedure related to the development is underway. After selecting the contractor, the work area will be handed over. I would like the actual works to start as soon as possible, since the weather is favorable now, otherwise the investment must be officially completed by the end of the year.
The development affects György Dózsa, Béla Bartók, Szelesker, Sárré, István Dobó, Ferenc Rákóczi, kis Nádasdy, Érmellék, Simon Ferenc, István Vasvári, Kárász, Dapsy Gizella and kis Kolozsvári streets. In addition to replacing the wear layer of the aged asphalt pavements, the road markings and zebra crossings will also be renewed and signposts will be installed.
