The victims of the former director of the children’s home in Bicske, János V., submitted their claims for compensation years earlier to the institutions that were responsible for operating or supervising the home.

Based on the information provided by Blikk, through an agreement between the victims and the state, the victims received significant sums of several tens of millions of forints, without going through court proceedings. According to the portal, nine victims received compensation, and not everyone received the same amount. The payments were made at different times, but everyone involved accepted the settlement.
The press department of the Ministry of the Interior wrote to Blikk:
The General Directorate of Social and Child Protection concluded an out-of-court settlement agreement with nine people, to whom it paid a total of HUF 154 million.
According to a young woman, boys and girls were regularly humiliated and abused in the children’s home in Bicske, and sometimes sexual harassment also occurred. He himself lived for ten years in the institution run by János V, who was convicted of pedophilia.
