Jákli said that when the French general contractor of the nuclear power plant being built at Hinkley Point C in England was asked about the background of the project’s work organization, they were directed to their Chinese colleague, as 52 nuclear power plants are under construction in China and the French general contractor also brought Chinese people into the project. “Three giant companies cover the entire nuclear industry in China, and therefore we are absolutely exploring cooperation points,” said the CEO.
In the interview, the leader also spoke about the fact that the amount of 12.5 billion euros “is still valid” with the Russian main contractor, but he added that the planned costs of the construction of the nuclear power plant in Western Europe could not be kept anywhere else, therefore “it would be irresponsible”. more to say now. “Most power plant construction is carried out in a turnkey contract, yet they are constantly getting more expensive. I think that the most beneficial thing for Hungary is if the turnkey responsibility remains a turnkey responsibility,” said Gergely Jákli.
According to Jákli, the revision and amendment of certain points of the construction contract is in progress with Rosatom, the negotiations are constructive. As with the European Commission, which last year approved the amendment of the EPC contract and the financing contract within 30 days.

Jákli confirmed the previous promise of Péter Szijjártó, according to which the first concrete pouring will take place at block five and later at block six by the end of this year. These will be the first concrete elements of the base body of the nuclear island. The previous soil consolidation works are expected to be completed this summer, after which the soil can be excavated to a depth of minus 23 meters, and then precast concrete is first placed in the deepened pit, then reinforcing steel, and finally the first 900 cubic meters of concrete is poured on it.
According to the manager, the project will reach the phase where it can produce by the beginning of the 2030s, i.e. when both blocks can be connected to the grid.
