Locations of historical events provide the basic situation Zoltán Biró in his adventure novels. Since he has been writing, he also organizes family trips to places where he can research the topics that form the basis of his novels. In his recently published adventure novel, Az Utolsó Corvin, he guides the reader to places in Visegrád.
– A detective story can be read again in the new book, the starting point of which is the fiction that the Corvina ordered by him arrives in Hungary during the reign of Mátyás, which several people wanted to acquire after the king’s death. Mátyás’s librarian, on the other hand, decides that he will decide the fate of the Míves volume himself. The interesting part of the novel lies in the fact that I place the history of the investigation in the present day, and yet the threads come together – introduced the author to the complexity of his novel.
“For me, writing novels is a passion.” I have been interested in Hungarian history for a long time, and when I first searched for a topic, my imagination wandered in the direction of possible treasures and mysteries. Why can’t there be a fictional explanation of where the chalice of the blood contract went? Jóska Sobri his earthly remains? the author asked the poetic question. He works on one topic for about a year, but he has a lot of ideas in his head.
– I wrote my first novel Tihany light for a year and a half. But not because it was so long, but because I only worked on it when I felt like it, it felt good. I noticed that the topics of my books are also of interest to others, because after the Tihany light, quite a lot of people contacted me to find out when I would come out with an adventure novel steeped in crime fiction.
Of course, the writer is also happy to research in the Marcali area.
– He lived in Marcali Béla Hikman there was also a novel about the famous locksmith and his butler, the publication of which, for example, gave me an unusual surprise. After I fulfilled the first orders and held book presentations in the area, I received several feedbacks that there were people who decided that the next time they will vacation at Lake Balaton, if only for a day, they will visit Marcali, because most of the action takes place here takes place. Later, there was also an example of a hotel on the Lake Balaton calling me saying that one of their guests wanted to buy one of my books.
– When I became a police officer, I didn’t think I would have anything to do with Balaton tourism, but I’m glad it turned out this way. There is no shortage of ideas, many things occupy me, and my goal is to visit the places where I can find clues with my children. My favorite place is Bakony, where we can find a lot of mysteries related to the outlaw world, he added Zoltán Biró. – It was not easy, for example, to find the remains of the inn in the Balaton highlands where Carrot Rozi got to know him Jóskát Sobribut it is an even greater joy that I was able to experience this with my children, who enjoy reading the stories, because they are energetically written and readable stories.
He delivers from his books to the police station
I read a lot myself, From Jenő Rejtő, to Donato Carrizi I’m interested in everything, and I enjoy reading poems. There are also people among my colleagues who are curious about what kind of historical mystery I have worked on in my new book, so when I receive the copies from the printer, I bring them to the police. Now I am organizing the book launches and, of course, I am also fulfilling the orders. Maybe my work would appear in a more demanding form if I were under contract with a publisher, but it is also likely that I would be away from home more and my children would not be on the cover. Recently, there was an example of it being thrown in my face on my social media page, it is difficult to get access to my previous books, which I can understand, but I cannot advise anyone who has such a problem to come to the Marcal library, because it is possible that all of them it is borrowed, the writer added.
